Bruce G. Savoy, 55
OLD ORCHARD BEACH -- Bruce G. Savoy, 55, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009.
He was born on July 26, 1954, in Biddeford, the son of Real L. Savoy Sr. and Eunice G. (Jamieson) Savoy. He was educated in the Old Orchard Beach school system.
Bruce was employed as a code enforcement officer with the town of Wells. He previously worked as a police officer for both the town of Wells and Old Orchard Beach, and was a member of the call fire department. He was also a former animal control officer and was outspoken on animal welfare issues.

Arlene A. Turner, 72
SOUTH PORTLAND -- Arlene A. Turner, 72, of Summit Terrace, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Maine Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born in Lee, she was a daughter of Jasper and Hilda A. Nute Farrington. She was a graduate of Scarborough High School and Southern New Hampshire University with a degree in Business Administration. Because of her love for learning, Mrs. Turner continued to take educational courses throughout her life. For 20 years, she had been an executive with Alden Heating and Ventilating in Gorham.

Arnold "Arnie"
J. Pierce, 56
SHAPLEIGH -- Arnold "Arnie" J. Pierce, 56, of Shapleigh, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at his home. Born in Saco on June 4, 1953, he was a son of the late Charles and Doris (Driscoll) Pierce. He graduated from Massabesic High School in 1971.
Arnold retired from the Portsmouth Navy Yard where he had been employed as a pipefitter. He then became owner and operator of Pierce's Garage, originally founded by his father. Arnold's passion and drive for life led him to be involved in local clubs and organizations.

Charles Harman, 78
MOODY -- Charles Harman, 78, of Moody, formerly of Milford, Mass., died Nov. 12, 2009, in Panama City, Fla., while on vacation there.
He was the husband of the late Katherine (Murphy) Harman who died in 2004. He is survived by a son, Thomas W. Harman of Hull, Mass., two daughters, Linda Waterson of Sharon, Mass., Susan Barberian of California; a sister Imogene Katen of Delhart, Texas; and one grandchild.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m., in the Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 24 Congress St., Milford, Mass.

Jeanne Elizabeth "Betty" Atwell
YARMOUTH -- Jeanne Elizabeth "Betty" Atwell died, Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, following surgery for a broken leg, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth.
She was born March 26, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of Merle and Beryl (Fletcher) Yeaton. The family shortly thereafter moved to Massachusetts, and she was raised in the Framingham-Natick area, graduating from Framingham High School in 1940.
In 1941 she married Stanley R. Atwell. Soon after World War II, the family moved to Maine, ending up in Farmington, where they raised their family.

Ralph C. Bailey Sr., 85
SACO -- Ralph C. Bailey Sr., 85, of the Heath Road, passed away on Nov. 17, 2009, at the Maine Veteran's Home in Scarborough.
He was born in Portland on Nov. 26, 1923, the son of Ralph and Gertrude (Briggs) Bailey. He graduated from Deering High School and Maine Maritime Academy. He served in the Merchant Marines in World War II. For over 30 years, he worked at S.D. Warren, retiring as the head of the Utilities Department in 1979.

Ronald A. Lisee, 66
Oct. 9, 1943 - Nov. 17, 2009
PORTLAND -- Ronald A. Lisee, 66, of South Portland, died Tuesday after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family at the Maine Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Peggy) Lisee. They were married Dec. 4, 1987.
Ron was born Oct. 9, 1943, in Putnam, Conn., the son of Celia M. Lisee and the late Gideon A. Lisee. Ron was raised in Rogers CT and graduated from Killingly High School.

Georgie E. Whitehead Fenderson, 97
SCARBOROUGH -- Georgie E. Whitehead Fenderson, 97, formerly of Belfast, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.
Georgie was the daughter of Elmer S. and Jeannette Perkins Whitehead. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1929, and was Secretary to the Manager of Merrill Trust Co., Belfast Branch.
She was married to Harold I. Fenderson in 1931. He was then manager of the Western Union Telegraph Co., in Belfast, and later became Superintendent of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Harold H. Cochrane
SCARBOROUGH -- Harold H. Cochrane, of Durham and formerly of Cape Elizabeth, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 15, 2009, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a valiant battle with cancer.
He graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School. He married Lorraine Laberge of South Portland in 1962. They resided in Cape Elizabeth until 1976, finally settling in Durham.

James L. Rupard "Lenny," 71
SCARBOROUGH -- James L. Rupard "Lenny," 71, of Portland, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
Born June 20, 1938, in Union Grove, N.C., he was the son of the late James Dexter and Rachel Jordan Rupard. Before his retirement he worked in security at Mercy Hospital. Some of his favorite things were fishing, working on cars, watching westerns and trips to North Carolina.
