STANDISH -- John B. Pollard, 83, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, in Stark, Fla.
He was born in Windham, the son of Ira C. Pollard and Minnie E. Cannell. He was born and raised in Windham and graduated from Pennell Institute in Gray. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked in Construction and retired from RJ Grondins in 2006. He enjoyed stock car racing, playing horseshoes and going to Florida for the winters.
John is survived by his wife Eleanor M.

SCARBOROUGH -- John R. "Jack" Williamson, 78, of Scarborough, died on Nov. 16, 2009, at the Maine Veterans' Home in Scarborough with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Baltimore, Md., on April 9, 1931, the son of Lloyd A. and Dorothy (Dornlas) Williamson. Jack was a 1949 graduate of Boston Technical High School and went on to earn his BBA degree from Northeastern University and his MBA degree from Boston College School of Management.

PORTLAND -- Kenneth G. "Ben" Webster passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at Maine Medical Center, Portland.
Ben was born on Aug. 21, 1921, in Melbourne, Quebec, Canada. The son of the late Ernest M. and Louise J. Samson Webster, he graduated from Brighton High School, Island Pond, Vt. in 1940. Ben served three years in the U.S. Navy from 1942 through 1945. On Sept. 2, 1945, he married Maida B. Hinman in Newport, Vt. He retired from the Canadian National Railway after 44 years of service, including his military time. He was past Master of Island Pond, Vt.

SOUTH PORTLAND -- Patricia Peabbles Tomlin, 87, of South Portland, passed away in Westbrook, on Nov. 13, 2009, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1922, in Portland, the daughter of Walter and Caro Mayo Peabbles. Patricia attended Portland schools and was a graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School Class of 1941.
She met Randolph Tomlin while he was stationed at Fort Williams. They married in 1945. As a young girl she was an accomplished dancer and performed in many shows.

He was born on March 7, 1937, in Newburg, the son of Dexter and Catherine "Polly" Clements. At age five his family moved to South Portland. His formal education concluded with graduating from Portland High School where he played football.
Richard's hobbies included weight lifting, body building, archery and poetry.

BATH -- Yvette Bernadette Picard Small, 92, of Lincoln Street, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, in Bath.
She was born in Brunswick, the daughter of Amedee and Emerilda Picard. Yvette graduated from Brunswick High School in 1934 and from Mount Merici in 1936. She was employed by a Personal Finance Company and attended tax seminars to prepare taxes for their clients. This began her tax-consulting career, which she carried on for 60 years.
She married Charles T. Small in June 1940.

Andrea was born in Portland in the wee hours of June 28, 1976, the first daughter of James E. and Doreen M. (Robbins) Pritchard. She attended local area schools before graduating from Scarborough High School as a member of the class of 1995.

NEW HARBOR -- Edith Jane Hyde Thompson, 84, of New Harbor, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at her home on the morning of Nov. 15, 2009.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1925, in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of Jane and Irving Hyde. She and her family lived in Stamford, Conn., as well as Glastonbury, Conn. Edith survived a serious illness as a young girl, demonstrating strength of will that served her well for the rest of her life.
As a young woman, Edith attended, and graduated from, Hartford Hospital Nursing School, where she earned her degree as an R.N.

SANFORD -- Evelyn Parent, 93, devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Nov. 13, 2009, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born on June 11, 1916, the eldest daughter of Edmund and Alice Brisard. She was a graduate of Berwick Academy.
Evelyn married Albert "Val" Parent in South Berwick on Sept. 6, 1937, and together they raised two children. Mrs.

BIDDEFORD -- Conrad A. Roberge, 88, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2009, at St. Andre's Health Care facility after a long illness. He was born July 31, 1921, in Tingwick, P.Q., Canada the son of Willie and Rose Baillargeon Roberge. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Iowa in the South Pacific. On Sept. 7, 1946, he married Mary Ellen Gleason at St. Patrice Church in Tingwick, P.Q. and moved to Biddeford.
Conrad worked for the Saco Lowell Shops for four years, Pepperell Mfg., Bates Mfg. Co.
